Hive visit photos – brood and queen spotted! Great pix.

Here are the pictures I promised in the podcast – some great shots by Mrs Beekeeper of the hive’s progress. (She does great work, doesn’t she?) If you click on the thumbnail, you get to see the full sized version of the picture.  One of these is now my wallpaper on my computer- they really came out great.

This will be a long post and I don’t want to blow out the front page here, so click to go to the full post to see the pictures.

A frame pull – they have been going to town!

A great view – Mrs Beekeeper took this one at a great angle so you can see the foundation being drawn out. You really need to see this full size – click to view.

Reverse side of the first frame -you can see them just getting started on this frame.

You can see developing baby bees in this one!  There are some uncapped brood cells here – click to see it full size first, but then you can see – just to the right of center – the curled up developing brood.  Very neat.

Her Majesty! You can see the Queen very clearly on this shot – she’s just about centered in the frame moving from left to right.  She’s a marked queen, so look for the larger bee with the yellow dot on her back.  What’s her name? Well, that’s up to you perhaps! Don’t forget to drop a line and nominate one or two names!

Last, but not least, a very nice shot that Mrs Beekeeper took of some workers just starting out to work on a virgin foundation frame.  A beautiful shot- she really has a great eye for this.

Hope you enjoyed them! Let me know what you think!  I’ll pass comments onto Mrs Beekeeper. 🙂

I’m looking for a picture of the thrill I get when holding up a frame of gloriously newly capped sealed brood. About the perspective of your third picture, but slightly closer, getting the frame into the picture, but little else. Same for a frame newly capped of honey. Makes my mouth water just to think about it.
